John Meurer

As a trained machinist, John is integral in the development and maintenance of our equipment fleet. He is an avid outdoorsman and hunter.

Joshua Meurer

ISA Board Certified Master Arborist (IN-1368B) – highest credential in tree care. Degrees in Horticulture and Forest Management. Joshua ensures that we are always up to date on insect and disease issues, industry research and trends.

Gene Meurer

An attorney by education, Gene enjoys the challenge in tree care and pilots some of our most sophisticated equipment. When not working, you will find him in his woodshop.

Aaron Meurer

ISA Certified Arborist (IL-9664A). After running a successful lawn care service, Aaron joined his brothers in tree care. He coordinates the estimates and production to keep us running smoothly.

how it
started

It all started in Sherwood Forest. Thats the name of the street in West Belleville where Eugene Meurer, Dad, grew up. He began his career in tree care as a young man who loved trees and working with his hands. He learned from area nurserymen and continued this interest as a side enterprise throughout his working career as a civilian department manager at Scott Air Force Base.

He instilled his hard work ethic in his growing family, and they (5 sons and 4 daughters), all joined in to help along the way. By the time they were teenagers, the Meurer boys were adept with chainsaws and other tools of the trade. In the last 22 years, the second generation has grown the business from the kitchen table to the professional company it is today.

Each brother brings unique skills and expertise, but they share in the legacy of hard work, customer service, and a job well done that started it all many years ago.

Founded by our father, Eugene Meurer in 1960, our family business has always been about providing best in class of service. We work hard every day to live up to that reputation so that when people hear the name Meurer – they think of excellence – even if they can’t pronounce it!
